Condenser Tubes

Condenser tubes are designed to efficiently condense process fluids on the external surface of the tube, making them a critical component in a wide range of heat exchanger, condenser, and chiller applications. They are commonly used in refrigeration systems, evaporator–condenser cycles, surface condensers, and industrial heat transfer equipment.

Category

Typical Applications:

Chillers and refrigeration systems

Surface condensers for steam systems

Evaporators and heat exchangers

Ammonia chiller systems

Power generation and industrial process cooling

Tube Sizes & Configurations:

Condenser tubes are commonly manufactured in the following outside diameters (O.D.):

5/8″ (15.88 mm)

3/4″ (19.05 mm)

1″ (25.4 mm)

Larger outside diameters are also available for high-capacity applications, such as ammonia chillers and custom industrial systems.

To improve heat transfer performance, condenser tubes can be supplied in:

Prime (smooth) surface tubes

Internally enhanced tubes (I.D. rifling or grooved)

Externally enhanced tubes (low-fin or high-fin)

Internally & externally enhanced tubes for maximum efficiency

Materials Available:

Replacement condenser tubes are available in a wide range of alloys, including:

Copper and copper alloys

Copper-nickel alloys

Stainless steel

Carbon steel

Other custom alloys upon request.

Performance Advantages:

Efficient condensation on tube exterior

Increased heat transfer with finned or rifled designs

Improved thermal efficiency and system capacity

Optimized pressure drop for enhanced fluid residence time

Extended service life with corrosion-resistant materials

Improve Heat Exchanger Efficiency

In many cases, overall heat exchanger performance can be significantly improved by:

Increasing fins per inch (FPI)

Applying internal rifling grooves to increase surface area and pressure drop

These enhancements help retain fluids in the tube longer, resulting in higher heat transfer efficiency without major system modifications.
